CASA’s Annual Conference to be Held October 3-6 in Hamilton, ON

WINNIPEG, MB –/COMMUNITYWIRE/–The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) will hold its 27th  annual conference “Safety is our Promise” and annual general meeting in Hamilton from October 3 – 6, 2022.

“Agriculture is an ever-evolving industry,” says Andrea Lear, CASA’s Chief Executive Officer. “CASA works to be proactive in highlighting important topics that affect safety and health on Canadian farms and ranches and, this year, the conference is focusing on sustainability, education and vulnerable workers.”

Attendees will hear from experts in sustainability in two sessions, one focusing on how health and safety impacts sustainability at the industry level and the other, on how sustainability on individual farms often starts with self. Participants will learn about preparing future farmers from educational experts working to enshrine farm safety at this pivotal point in their agricultural career. Finally, highlighted in a workshop, attendees will discover how working conditions of agricultural workers and social determinants of health impact these vulnerable workers and discuss appropriate strategies to develop educational materials and interventions that are equitable, and justice-focused.

“If you work with farmers, are employed in safety services, or are interested in understanding the trends in agricultural safety and health, this conference is for you,” says Lear. “This is an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues and interact with experts.”

Alongside the dynamic speakers featured at the CASA conference, attendees will also get the opportunity to tour a greenhouse in the beautiful Niagara region and attend a social evening at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
