LONDON, ON –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– Now in their third week on strike, CUPE 2073 members will walk the picket line outside of Canadian Hearing Services’ London office on Wednesday – to the rhythm of the Action Beats Collective.
Action Beats Collective are a samba-inspired social and ecological justice drumming group. They reached out to the striking London workers to express solidarity, and to offer their music as the strike drags on.
They are only the latest in a long line of allies who have joined CUPE 2073 picket lines across the province, including NDP MPPs, labour leaders, and most importantly Deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing people themselves who have come out in droves to support the workers who support them.
