From September 11 to September 28, Experience EVs Firsthand, Have Your Questions Answered by Local EV Experts, and Enter RBC’s Avion Points Contest

BANFF, AB –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– Drivers in the picturesque town of Banff can usher in a new season at MEET Banff, part of Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour, which brings a fleet of all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to communities across Canada for no-pressure test drives.

The upcoming MEET Banff event gives local drivers the chance to get behind the wheel of all-electric (BEV) pickups and sedans, as well as a mix of plug-in hybrid and BEV crossovers and SUVs. Visitors will be able to speak with local EV owners about what it’s like to drive an EV year-round – a super-helpful resource for EV-curious consumers.

Thanks to the Tour’s National Champion sponsor, RBC, attendees will be able to test drive their choice from a variety of different plug-in vehicles, plus have a chance to then scan a code to win 250,000 RBC Avion points from RBC — enough for an electric scooter and more.

Every Thursday to Sunday between September 11 and September 28, MEET Banff will be hosted at Banff Train Station, 327 Railway Ave, Banff, AB T1L 1A1. Test drives will be available from 10 am to 5 pm during those days. Online reservations for MEET Banff are recommended, though walk ups are welcome. Drivers must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license.

MEET Banff is presented by the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley, a non-profit charitable organization promoting sustainable communities, and supported through voluntary contributions and sponsorships.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Plug’n Drive to bring electric vehicle education and test drives to the Bow Valley through MEET Banff and MEET Canmore this fall,” said Grace Gillman, Shift: Climate Transitions Coordinator with the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley.

“Showcasing EVs at the historic Banff Train Station offers a unique way to highlight their environmental and cost benefits, while supporting the Town of Banff in advancing their climate objectives. With transportation emissions making up a significant share of our region’s carbon footprint, hands-on experiences like these are key to shifting perceptions and encouraging EV adoption.

MEET Banff is the eighth Western MEET of Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour in 2025.

List of EVs available for test driving (subject to change)

· 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV – All-Wheel Drive Electric Pickup Truck
· 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 – All-Wheel Drive Battery Electric SUV
· 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 – Battery Electric Sedan
· 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – Plug-in Hybrid SUV
· 2024 Volvo XC60 AWD – All-Wheel Drive Plug-in Hybrid SUV

A key benefit of these test drives is the support provided by Plug’n Drive’s EV Ambassadors, who facilitate the drives and share their expertise. Many are EV owners themselves and active members of local EV groups, offering participants first-hand insights into electric driving and local charging infrastructure.

“We’re happy to have such a variety of electric options from different brands to be able to sample all in one spot, especially here in the Bow Valley,” said Edmund Ong, EV owner and Team Leader for MEET Banff. “Having side-by-side access to everything from an all-electric pickup truck to multiple plug-in hybrid and all-electric crossovers really helps our neighbours in the community experience how these technologies can meet their needs, and ask any questions they have about living with EVs to local EV owners.”
