Plug’n Drive and The City of Calgary Bring Electric Vehicle Test Drives to Calgary

From July 24 to August 17, Test Drive an EV and Learn from Local Experts How it Can Fit Your Lifestyle
CALGARY, AB –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– Thinking about going electric? The City of Calgary and Plug’n Drive are bringing a fleet of EVs and plug-in hybrids to Calgary for a month of free, no-pressure test drives. It’s one of the longest stops on Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour and a chance for Calgarians to get behind the wheel of an EV and chat with a local expert.
From Thursday to Sunday each week between July 24 and August 17, MEET Calgary will be presented by The City of Calgary at the University of Calgary, Lot 33 (enter off University Way N.W.), 2500 University Dr. N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4L6.

This will be the third MEET presented by The City of Calgary, and second in 2025, highlighting The City’s commitment to introducing EVs, their fuel savings, and emissions reductions to local drivers.
“Electric vehicles are an important part of Calgary’s transportation future, and the MEET is a great opportunity for Calgarians to ask questions, get hands-on experience, and learn more about how EVs can fit into their daily lives,” said Jordan Carrier, Public Program Coordinator for The City of Calgary. “We’re excited to welcome Plug’n Drive back to Calgary and encourage Calgarians to come out, take a test drive, and see what electric vehicles are all about.”
Visitors to the MEET or any EV Roadshow location will be able to test drive their choice of six different plug-in vehicles. This will be the sixth Western MEET of Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour in 2025, a groundbreaking initiative bringing electric vehicle (EV) education and test drives to communities across the country. Attendees can also learn how to earn 15,000 Avion points by choosing RBC to finance their eligible electric vehicle. Plug’n Drive is proud to have RBC as the Tour’s National Champion sponsor.

Plug’n Drive’s EV Ambassadors, many of whom are EV owners themselves, will talk to Calgarians about sustainability, winter driving and other common EV questions while organizing test drives.
“Events like this are super helpful to introduce folks to EVs – to demystify EVs in a friendly, supportive environment where they can talk to real EV owners,” said Edmund Ong, EV owner and Team Leader for MEET Calgary. “At our earlier Calgary EV test drive event, many drivers had lots of great questions – about what it’s really like to live with EVs, how the cars work in winter, and how an EV might work for them – so it was great to have folks there that could share full accounts of their experiences living with EVs year-round right here in Alberta.”
