CAA-Québec and Plug’n Drive Bring Electric Driving Experience to Gatineau QC and Cornwall ON

From June 12 to June 22, residents can test drive EVs at Voyages CAA-Québec as part of a cross-country electric vehicle education tour
GATINEAU, QC –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– With excitement building due to reports of a return of the federal EV rebate, combined with the re-activated provincial Québec EV rebates in April, Plug’n Drive and CAA-Québec are bringing a fleet of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles for convenient consumer test drives at its Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET) in Gatineau, Québec in June.
On each Thursday to Sunday between June 12 to June 22, visitors to Voyages CAA-Québec at 960 Bd. Maloney O, Gatineau, QC J8T 8E1 will be able to test drive up to five different plug-in vehicles.
This will be the fourth MEET stop on the Eastern route of Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour, a groundbreaking initiative bringing electric vehicle (EV) education and test drives to communities across the country, brought to the nation’s capital area in part by Tour National Champion RBC, as well as Regional Towing Sponsor and local Site Sponsor, CAA-Québec.
“CAA-Québec has long supported the transition to electric vehicles, with access to independent and knowledgeable information, testing and EV-related services all working to the goal of consumers making an informed choice that are right for them,” said Pierre-Serge Labbé, Vice president, Mobility Services, CAA-Québec . “Our EV Buyer’s Guide provides important information for new and used EV buyers, while our members also receive discounts on EV-related purchases and services.”
Electric vehicles onsite will include the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup—currently the longest-range electric pickup on the market, officially rated at up to 792 km on a full charge. Plug’n Drive has been using the Silverado EV to tow its Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET) from community to community, demonstrating the strength and reliability of electric towing in real-world conditions. Other vehicles will include all-electric sedans, as well as both plug-in hybrid and all-electric SUVs.
Addressing EV questions while organizing test drives will be EV Ambassadors from Canadian non-profit Plug’n Drive, many of whom are electric vehicle owners as well. They can share resources about all the EVs available in Canada and how they can help save you money, as well as charging and technology tips for current EV owners or the EV curious.
“Québec is the number one province for EV sales in Canada, and offers widespread public charging support, which also benefits EV drivers who drive into the province, either on vacation or more regularly,” said Tracy Walden, Vice President of Engagement for Plug’n Drive. “Québec’s deeply engaged EV consumers have long appreciated how the combination of the lowest electricity prices in North America combined with one of its cleanest electricity grids provides many health and cost advantages to driving electric.”
