TORONTO, ON –(COMMUNITYWIRE) — The Ontario Compensation Employees Union (OCEU/CUPE 1750) will hold a media conference at the Ontario Legislature’s media studio tomorrow on June 5th, 2025, at 9 a.m. to mark two weeks on the picket line in the first full-scale strike in the 110-year history of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

OCEU/CUPE 1750 President Harry Goslin will be joined by Fred Hahn, President CUPE Ontario and Kelly Allen, Case Manager, WSIB, to address the Ford government and WSIB management’s ongoing refusal to resolve dangerously high workloads, address the toxic workplace culture, and stop outsourcing critical Ontario jobs to U.S. companies. The strike is resulting in growing backlogs for injured workers and raising alarm about the future of public services in Ontario.
