TORONTO, ON –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– The bargaining teams for OCEU/CUPE 1750 will be waiting by the table in the Sheraton Centre tonight. The union sent a number of letters to the employer demanding they return to the table over the past few days, but as yet have had no response.

“The WSIB is going on the media saying we walked away from the table,” said Nicole Francis, the union’s chief steward. “When in reality we have been waiting for them to come back to us with a real offer. The ball is in their court, no matter how they spin it.”

The union remains on picket lines after the employer locked OCEU members out of their work systems on Wednesday last week. “This is a lock-out, plain and simple. The employer is playing games with injured Ontario workers’ lives,” said Harry Goslin.

The union has sent several communications to the employer without having a response.
