MEDIA ADVISORY: Ontario labour leaders to join striking Region of Waterloo workers at council picket

KITCHENER, ON –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– This evening, striking Region of Waterloo members will be joined by Ontario Federation of Labour President Laura Walton, CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn, and supporters from the community for a picket during the Region of Waterloo Council meeting. Media are invited to attend.

CUPE Local 1656 workers at the Region of Waterloo have been on strike for nearly three weeks as Karen Redman and the Region of Waterloo continue to refuse to honour their commitment made to workers in negotiations and negotiate a fair deal.
