Cornwall health care workers will gather petition signatures alongside Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream!

CORNWALL, ON –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– On Thursday a delegation of health care workers will gather petition signatures as part of the CUPE Support Our Care days of action campaign alongside the Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream truck at the corner of First Street and Pitt Street in Cornwall.

Launched by the CUPE Ontario Health Care Workers Coordinating Committee (HCWCC), the Support Our Care campaign calls on the Ontario Conservative government to heavily invest in health care, raise the wages of health care workers, focus on the recruitment and retention of health care workers across sectors, and strengthen workers’ rights.

Thursday’s action is one of seven HCWCC actions across Ontario over the summer and early fall. The actions aim to raise awareness of the extreme stress, exhaustion, and burnout Ontario health care workers feel on and off the job, day in and day out.
