BLACK RIVER-MATHESON, ON –(COMMUNITYWIRE)– 14 full-time municipal workers, members of CUPE Local 1490, have been on strike since October 15. Today they’re holding a community event, joined by Charlie Angus, Member of Parliament, and representatives of the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL).

WHO:
Striking members of CUPE Local 1490; Charlie Angus, Member of Parliament, Timmins-James Bay; Ahmad Gaied, Secretary-Treasurer of the OFL; and Jackie Taylor, Executive Vice-President of the OFL.

WHAT:
Black River-Matheson municipal workers are holding a community to engage with residents after being on the picket lines since October 15.

WHERE:
410 Fourth Avenue, Matheson, ON

WHEN:
March 12, 2024, 5:00pm-6:00pm.
