Make holiday entertaining a little bit sweeter

Original Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies
Satisfy those cravings for traditional, home-baked comfort food this holiday with the first chocolate chip cookie recipe ever created.

Preparation: 15 min
: 10 min
Tools required: Electric mixer, baking sheets

1 cup (250 mL) butter, softened
1 cup (250 mL) chopped nuts
¾ cup (175 mL) packed brown sugar
¾ cup (175 mL) granulated sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
2¼ (550 mL) cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
1 package (340g) of Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
2 eggs

1. Preheat oven to 375˚F (190˚C). In large bowl, beat softened butter, packed brown sugar and granulated sugar with electric mixer until creamy. Beat in vanilla and eggs.
2. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chopped nuts and Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels.
3. Drop slightly rounded tablespoons (15 mL) about 2-inches (5 cm) apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Toll House Party Mix Twist
For an unexpected chocolaty twist on the Canadian ‘Nuts and Bolts’ favourite, try this Toll House version and watch your guests keep coming back for more!

Tools required:
13 x 9 inch (30 x 20 cm) baking pan

2 cups (500 mL) toasted cereal squares
2 cups (500 mL) small pretzel twists
1 cup (250 mL) dry-roasted peanuts
1 package (340g) of Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 170g package of Mackintosh’s Mack Toffee Candy, unwrapped

1. Coat baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Combine cereal squares, pretzels, peanuts and toffee in large bowl.
2. Microwave morsels uncovered in microwave-safe bowl on medium-high (70%) power for 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at additional 10-15 second intervals, stirring just until morsels are melted. Pour over cereal mixture; stir to coat evenly.
3. Spread mixture in prepared baking pan; cool for 30 to 45 minutes or until firm. Break into bite-size pieces.
